"Last year, Fargo spotlighted the new Scandinavian folk scene with the Cowboys in Scandinavia compilation. Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, which is due to be released on the 24th of April 2007, gathers some of the best kept secrets from the female “indie folk” sphere.
Therefore, most of these musicians have just released their first album, are self-produced or are not distributed in Europe. Beneath this title referring to the Gus Van Sant’s movie lies some of the Fargo girls (Lauren Hoffman, Dawn Landes, Jesse Sykes, Emily Loizeau…) as well as emerging songwriters (Bosque Brown, discovered by Damien Jurado, Sara Cahoone, drummer for Band of Horses…).

hi...i just got back from touring with crooked fingers and i had a blast. i wanted to thank everyone for coming to the shows and being so supportive. it made it a great experience for me. crooked fingers are a great bunch of folks, and you should check out their new record, "dignity and shame", when you get a chance.

this month, i'm going to be back in the studio to finish up a new record for release sometime this fall....
